The Manaslu conservation area is one of the best trips in Nepal. We haven’t seen much trash from Lho to Dharmasala, but from Dharmasala to Bhimtang unfortunately there was a lot. Our hearts couldn’t bear just passing the trash so we started to clean up on the way up to Larke pass. We wanted to clean up all of the trail but it would be hard to carry it all so down, so we brought down what we were able to collect and carry.
An interesting thing happened on the way up. We were cleaning up the trail and had a load of plastic bottles and wrappers. There were three Nepalese travelers doing the Manaslu circuit at the same time and they saw us picking up the trash. They helped us carry out two bags until Bhimtang, a distance of 24 km. We were so happy to get this beautiful support from the Nepalese travelers. You guys are amazing! Thank you so much for your contribution to reduce pollution on the mountain.
